I have some special intentions for the month of December.
First, for our country. That through God's grace all the people of our country will recognize that their true treasure is in heaven and thus be at peace, even in an unhealthy economy.
Second, for the protection of our soldiers. That by the grace of God and the ministry of angels and archangels all soldiers will be protected from harm, especially for my cousin, David Van de Voorde, who is deployed in Afganistan.
Third, for a fruitful Advent within my parishes. That God will be glorified in the good confessions of the people of St. Helena and St. Francis of Assisi parishes as they prepare to celebrate the Incarnation of God at Christmas.
Please say an Our Father, a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be for these intentions.
