Fr. Jason Thuerauf's Biography

title

Father Jason Thuerauf is a farm boy who became a priest.  Born in Iowa, he spent many years on a farm in Arizona.  He attended a Franciscan University Youth Conference in 1991 which changed his life.

Desiring to grow closer to the Blessed Trinity, he attended the Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, where he discovered God calling him to be a priest.  After receiving a BA in Theology in 1995, Bishop Manuel Moreno, who was then the Bishop of Tucson, asked him to study at St. John's Seminary in Camarillo, California.  After earning an MA in systematic theology as well as the Masters in Divinity, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Tucson in 1999.

Father Thuerauf has been graced with a love Jesus's presence in the Eucharist, a profound respect for the Holy Father and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Archbishop Chaput's pastoral letter on the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of Humanae Vitae and the Lord's blessings upon St. John Vianney Seminary are indicators of the power with which the Gospel is being preached here in northern Colorado.  This bold proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ attracted Father Thuerauf to the Archdiocese of Denver in 2003.  His first assignment there was as parochial vicar for Saint John the Evangelist Church in Loveland.

After serving the Church both on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains and on the eastern plains of Colorado, Father now server as pastor at a Denver Metro Parish.  He says, "Serving Saints Peter and Paul Parish is fantastic!  I've got to be the most blessed man on the planet."
